Testimonials

"I'm a single mum and having HAF for my daughter is a lifeline in the holidays as she's at senior school now and rather than hanging out with friends at the park or sit on her devices she wants to attend the farm. There I know she's safe, well looked after, fed and loving life meeting new friends and sharing new experiences with animals she wouldn't normally interact with. This is the first club she really taken to as she suffers with anxiety she's never stayed at clubs before due to the stress and emotions, she goes through leaving me. Silverbirch farm has done wonders for her confidence and brought her out her shell over the last few school holidays."

"It helps my child build confidence, social skills and keeps them physically and mentally active. They are happier and more settled as a result, and their overall mood and behaviour improves."

"As a carer I feel more relaxed and reassured knowing my child is being well looked after and is in a safe and creative learning environment. If he is happy and has a great time (he always does) then we are happy too!"

"My son is 12 and he also enjoys these programs. It motivates him to try new sports and helps him make friendships. He has learned so many new skills and, in my opinion overall happier."

"I really appreciate this free holiday club as I'm a single mother with no support network and my child has SEND so I like her to mix with different children and experience different settings."

"Friendships, confidence, safe space, adults who care and listen to them. Fun experience."

"It's amazing that HAF can do this for the children. It's very hard financially not only for me but lots of families are in the same situation. It's beneficial to those children that can go and be part of something and have lots of fun!"

"New friendships, keeping off the streets and being in a safe environment. The clubs provide consistent activities and engage the children."

"Socialising, exercise and a healthy day of fun. Being fostered it also offers them more confidence by meeting new people in a safe environment"

"The children took part in a range of activities, and it got them out of the flat for the days they attended. They ate hot meals, exercised and learnt new skills including cookery and arts and crafts."

"My daughter gained experiences that she would not be able to attend if it wasn't for the HAF activities because I cannot afford something like this for my daughter. We also got a Christmas hamper to keep us going over the Christmas period which was very much appreciated we were very grateful for this."

"My youngest has autism and struggles with the lack of routine in half term. Being able to attend HAF clubs keep some routine, she often finds her disabilities stop her from being able to take part in certain things so to be able to attend a club with her brother has meant respite for me too. My son has taken part in activities he otherwise wouldn't have been able to as I#39;m a lone parent and due to both having such different needs. Both children often have quite restricted diets, but both tried new foods at club some of which we have been able to continue with at home. This is amazing as often they will only eat a few safe foods at home."

"Our family benefitted because our children were able to gain confidence within themselves outside the family home. This prepared them for returning to school by being social and sticking to rules and guidelines. The children made great friendships, which has increased their confidence and self-esteem. My children had a great time and found the experience to be fun and educational."
