Lots of local support services will be hosting a stall in the marketplace areas. See below, and on the following pages for details of who will be there.

Social Care

EcoWings and Nights Limited

Care-focused organisation providing day centre and respite services designed to support children and young adults who require assistance with daily living whilst promoting independence and well-being. Our day services are for ages 19 to 30, respite services for adults aged under 65, and holiday clubs for ages 8 plus.

Southend-on-Sea City Council Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team

We support young people aged 14 to 18 who are open to the team as they move towards preparing for adulthood Transition planning. We support young people and their families prepare for this change by:

  • planning for adulthood – looking at future goals around independence, education, health, and community involvement
  • care and support reviews – making sure current care and support meets the young person's needs
  • coordinating multi agency support – working with schools, health professionals, and Adult Social Care
  • providing information about post 18 services – including Adult Disability Team pathways, respite, day opportunities, and community support

Southend-on-Sea City Council Occupational Therapy (OT) Team

We assess for equipment and adaptations within the home for children (0 to 18) and adults within Southend. Children that have a disability or diagnosis of a neurodevelopmental condition such as ASD or ADHD and have a functional need within the home are entitled to an OT assessment.

Badgers Den (Care) Ltd

Our day opportunities provision based in Rochford supports young people and adults 7 days a week, We empower our people to gain independence and live their best life. We access the community every day, from exercising outdoors to spending time with new and old friends.

Brocks Corner our trainee cafe is an environment where people that attend Badgers Den can gain real life working experience, developing skills in hospitality and public facing roles.

We support people aged 8 plus.

Social care, activities, health and preparing for adulthood

Hamelin

Essex based Charity that works with young people and adults (age 16 plus) with Autism and learning disabilities. We offer services that aim to integrate people in their communities, tackle loneliness and develop skills that reduce current and future reliance on social care services. This includes tailored learning disability support, including respite, day opportunities and guidance to help individuals and families feel more confident and connected.

Social care and preparing for adulthood

Southend-on-Sea City Council Adult Disability Team - Living Well (Adult Social Care)

We work in conjunction with the Children with Disabilities Team and the SEND Preparing for Adulthood Team. We support individuals who are transitioning into adult services aged 17 years plus.

Southend Shared Lives

Shared Lives support people with learning disabilities (age 17 plus) to lead fulfilling and active lives. Southend Shared Lives carers share their home and community life with individuals ranging from a few hours a week to long-term live-in arrangements or respite. Our carers can provide everything from practical support for everyday living, personal care or social and emotional support.
