A simple way for residents and local professionals to connect with community health and wellbeing services across Southend.
Southend-on-Sea City Council has formally adopted Southend Frontline as the city's digital referral platform for community health and wellbeing services. Ahead of its official launch on 1 October, local residents and health and social care professionals are encouraged to explore the platform online or via the free mobile app.
While Southend Livewell remains the city's public information directory for general events, SEND support, and local activities, Southend Frontline serves as the platform to actively connect residents directly to support. The distinction is simple: Livewell helps people find information - Southend Frontline connects people to support.
How Southend Frontline works
Funded by NHS Essex Integrated Care Board, Frontline provides a free digital directory and referral tool.
Service listings
All listed health and wellbeing services are free or low cost. The library is kept up to date through regular six-month checks.
For the public
Members of the public do not need to sign in or create an account. You can easily search for local help and click "Request a callback" to seek support for yourself or a loved one.
For professionals
Local professionals require an active account linked to a registered service. Once registered, professionals can submit secure, tracked warm referrals and access a reporting dashboard to monitor progress.
Local impact and future outlook
Southend Frontline is already making a strong community impact across the city:
- 380 local services are registered on the platform
- over 11,500 connections to support have been facilitated
- 87% of tracked professional referrals have been successfully actioned
From autumn 2026, Frontline will also integrate directly with NHS patient record systems (such as SystmOne), giving healthcare professionals direct access to local community services.
