Tier 2 services and support for families, children and young people

Mental Health Support in Primary Care Networks/GPs

The Primary care Network (PCN) Mental Health Services is a team of mental health professionals working within GP Surgeries, who help children and young people with their emotional and mental wellbeing.

The aim is to improve the mental health care of young people (0 to 18) and reduce the strain on GPs and secondary mental health services.

They can offer a young person support through:

  • consultation appointments to increase understanding of how to take care of your mental health and emotional wellbeing
  • one to one sessions to support young people

The service is in selected GP Practice's only. Please check with your GP.

The POWER Project

The POWER project is a targeted early intervention project working across Southend, Essex and Thurrock (SET). POWER also seeks to support schools to develop effective methods to enable children and young people to be successful in school.

Progressions

The Progressions transition service provides transition support and needs led interventions for young people following discharge from Southend, Essex and Thurrock Child and Adolescents Mental Health Service (SET CAMHS).
