Feedback

Feedback about the Local Offer website has been captured through:

  • the Local Offer website feedback survey hosted on Your Say Southend
  • Your Local Offer Your Way sessions
  • feedback arising organically, rather than through a particular mechanism
  • A Parent Voice Ambassador project with SAVS

Responses from the Local Offer website survey

1 person completed the survey in 2025. They had not used the Local Offer before. Their reason for visiting the site was to find out why a young person was not being supported. They did not find what they were looking for.

The user wanted information about why an EHCP had not been started and why an information booklet, which is not a publication of ours, was out of date.

The respondent rated the quality of information and look and feel/design of the Local Offer as very poor, and they found information difficult to find, commenting that there was cold and obscure language. They were dissatisfied with their visit to the Local Offer, and said they would not use it again, and would not recommend it to someone else.

Your Local Offer Your Way sessions

These sessions provide parent carers, children and young people and professionals with an opportunity to tell us what information they need on the Local Offer, and how it is presented.

We held a combination of daytime in-person and early evening online Local Offer feedback sessions. There were no attendees at any of the 4 evening online sessions, despite advertising the sessions repeatedly.

Our open topic face to face sessions (2) only had one attendee. Because of low engagement, we tried different approaches for our Local Offer feedback/engagement. At the end of each SSIF seminar (4) we held an engagement session, primarily focused on getting feedback on the SEND Routemaps. This reached a total of 83 parent carers.

We also targeted 2 of our face to face Your Local Offer Your Way sessions, devoting 2 to development of early years information on the Local Offer. SAVS Parent Carer Ambassadors and the Early Years SEND Support Service Manager attended these sessions, which led to improvement suggestions which were actioned, but no one else from the wider community came along.

SAVS Parent Voice Ambassador Project

This project has focused primarily on the Early Years section of the Local Offer website. A number of developments have been made as a result of the project.

The You Said We Did page has details of actions that have been taken in response to feedback.
