Southend Libraries offer a wide range of services for families, from Storyrhymes sessions for babies and toddlers, to craft activities, to fun reading challenges!
Libraries are not just places to borrow books. Families can enjoy regular Storyrhymes sessions that help young children develop communication and language skills through stories, songs and play.
For children and young people with SEND, libraries offer a range of inclusive opportunities and resources, including SEND-friendly activities, dyslexia-friendly books, audiobooks, dual-language books and stories that can help children understand life events and changes.
Libraries also provide a welcoming space for children to explore their interests and develop a lifelong love of reading and learning. Best of all, library membership is free and there are no overdue charges on children's books borrowed using a child's library card.
