Description of the proposal

Capacity

The Additional Resource Base will provide places for up to 21 pupils.

Age range

The provision will serve pupils within the existing primary age range of Earls Hall Primary School.

Rationale

This proposal supports the Council's statutory duty to ensure sufficient and appropriate provision for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. The proposal will increase local provision, promote inclusive education and reduce reliance on out-of-borough placements.

Implementation date

Subject to approval, the Additional Resource Base is proposed to open in a phased manner from September 2026.

Admission arrangements

Admissions to the Additional Resource Base will be made through the statutory Education, Health and Care Plan process and not through the school's mainstream admission arrangements.

Equalities

The Council has given due regard to its duties under the Equality Act 2010. The proposal is expected to have a positive impact on children and young people with disabilities by increasing access to local, high-quality and inclusive educational provision.
