Debt Recovery and Fraud
Where an individual fails to make payment of invoices for care services provided by the council, action will be taken in accordance with the council’s debt recovery procedures. This may result in legal action being taken and extra cost to the individual.
Non-payment of a deferred charge, or otherwise not following the terms of a deferred payment agreement, will result in debt recovery processes being instigated. This may result in legal action being taken and extra cost to the individual.
The council will seek to protect public money from fraud, misuse, or deprivation of assets and will take action to recover any monies lost as a result of such unlawful activities.
