What the local authority expects a setting to provide - Element 2

Element 2 funding is determined by a range of proxy indicators that should determine the prevalence of SEN within a particular school.

Some pupils may require specific, additional and time-limited interventions to help to accelerate their progress to enable them to work at or above age-related expectations. They are often targeted at a group of pupils with similar needs. Where is it decided that targeted (special educational) provision is required in order for the child to make progress, and it is decided to provide a pupil with SEN support, schools should use their Notional SEN Fund.

Provision up to a cost of £6,000 per pupil is expected to be provided by the school from elements 1 and 2 of the schools delegated budget via the Notional SEN Fund.
