Cake Club - SEND Club Holiday Specials - SEND events and activities

Description

Cake Club runs a weekly term-time parent support group for parents and carers of young children with additional needs and disabilities called SEND Club.

SEND Club Holiday Specials are one-off sessions which will run during school holidays.

This group is specifically aimed at families with babies, toddlers, preschoolers and school starters with additional needs and/or disabilities, with or without a diagnosis. Disabled or non-disabled siblings are also welcome to attend.

If you have an older child with SEND and would like to join us, please email us so that we can have a chat and assess whether the session is appropriate for their needs. If we're not able to accommodate you, we will always signpost to an alternative service and support you in any way that we can.

Children will benefit from engaging free-flow sessions tailored to a range of additional needs, enabling them to build confidence, enjoy positive shared experiences and access sensory and creative activities in a supportive environment.

Parents and carers will benefit from peer support, opportunities to share experiences with others, and access to information, advice and signposting.

A total of 16 sessions will run in school holidays between August 2026 and March 2027.

Confirmed dates and times for August 2026 are:

  • 6 August 10am to 12pm
  • 13 August 10am to 12pm
  • 20 August 10am to 12pm
  • 20 August 12.30pm to 2.30pm
  • 22 August 2pm to 3.30pm

Sessions will be advertised on the Cake Club Facebook page and the booking system.

Booking is essential.

Cost

Suggested donation of £3.50 per family where possible.

This activity is supported by 2026/27 Short Breaks Main Access Grant funding from Southend-on-Sea City Council.
