Grants available for Short Breaks
Please note, applications for Main Access Grants closed on 16 June 2026, and Community Access Grants closed on 22 June 2026.
To widen short breaks, Southend-on-Sea City Council has made funding available to increase the targeted offer. This is availiable in 2 ways:
- organisations/groups can apply for a Main Access Grant (up to the value of £10,000) to provide a short breaks programme of activities for a wider group of disabled children and young people.
- individual families can apply for a Community Access Grant (up to the value of £500) to support their disabled child to access to a short break.
