
Essex Partnership University Foundation NHS Trust Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service have launched a new access to advice line
The advice line is staffed by a qualified Speech and Language Therapist from 9.30 to 11.30am Monday to Friday (voicemail facility for messages outside those hours).
The purpose is to give easy access to a qualified Speech and Language Therapist for pre-referral advice, support, and reassurance for parents/carers, professionals, settings and schools.

Areas the advice line can help with:
- discussing typical speech, language and communication development where callers may be concerned about a child
- signposting and sharing advice about speech, language and communication development, hints and tips to try at home and in setting to support further development
- giving advice and resources about activities to strengthen your child's communication skills to avoid the need for a formal referral into the service
- advising on whether a formal referral into the service is necessary and if so, the route to arrange this
