Smooth transitions between education settings and phases of education are crucial for all children, but especially for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Early planning and collaboration are key to ensuring a successful move.

Support workshops for parent carers
The Educational Psychology Team are running online and face to face workshops between May and August 2026 on the following topics:
- Transitions from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Reception
- Transitions from Year 6 to Year 7
- Introduction to barriers to school attendance
The Specialist Teaching Service is hosting an informal session at 10am on 23 June 2026 at Little Heroes ASD Support Hub for parent carers of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) currently in Reception. Further information
