Who are Bag Books for?

Bag Books are aimed at children, teens and adults with physical and learning disabilities who cannot benefit from mainstream books. They are great for people with:

  • profound and multiple learning disabilities (with maximum developmental age of 18 months)
  • learning disabilities (with maximum developmental age of 6 years)
  • sever Autism
  • visual and hearing impairments
Titles

There are a range of fun Bag Books to choose from:

  • The Golden Book - a rhyming story about a visit to a library. There is such a choice and it's easy to get distracted, but the golden book on the returns trolley catches the eye!
  • The Haircut - when Chris goes to the hairdresser, a new trainee cuts his hair. When he looks in the mirror, it's not what he expected!
  • The Univited Guests - Robert and Jake secretly invite their friends round to their house, but they make a mess! What will happen when dad gets home?
  • Desmond - Desmond remains in bed oblivious to the alarm and his mum's increasing annoyance. However, a small accident involving dad's cold tea has the desired effect!
  • The Bookseller - once upon a time there was a little grey donkey who pulled a cart, and the cart was full of books as the owner is a bookseller
  • Gran's Visit - Gran sends a letter to tell of her impending visit. The story tells of the speedy clean-up of the house and the anxiety that it will not be ready in time!
  • What am I? - Tallulah is at the zoo, trying to work out what sort of animal she is, before her mum shows her
  • Sea Rescue - a fun day at the seaside is interrupted when Rosie and Sam see a boy in the sea struggling against the waves - call the lifeguard!
  • The Hot Air Balloon - take a ride in a hot air balloon but take care!
  • The Fairground - Suzie and Sam are enjoying all the fun of the fair with candy floss, games and dodgems before taking a spooky ride on the ghost train
