Description

Super 1s is a disability cricket programme for young people aged 12 to 25. It offers young people with a disability the chance to play regular competitive cricket.

Community cricket hubs allow participants the chance to receive coaching, compete against their peers and enjoy the benefits of playing sport.

We celebrate the development that can be made by young people living with disabilities involved with Super 1s through our annual Inspire Awards.

Our Super 1s competition gives participants a real sense of achievement, with many county and regional finals being held at iconic cricketing venues including Edgbaston, Emirates Old Trafford and Lord's.

Benefits:

  • provides young people with a chance to realise their potential, both on and off the pitch
  • improves participants physical and mental well-being
  • combats loneliness by taking part in regular competitive sport
  • gives a sense of belonging as they make friends and gain skills for life such as confidence and independence
  • engagement in a variety of workshops allows crucial life-skills to be learnt
  • progression for young people from participant to role model, whether as a player, coach or volunteer
