The EPUT Learning Disability Service works in partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT), together we are Essex Learning Disability Partnership (ELDP).
Our key aim is to provide expert support to adults with learning disabilities (and their families/carers) in need of specialist health support to maintain good health and wellbeing.
We can help with:
- physical health
- daily living skills
- medication
- memory difficulties
- behaviour, thoughts and feelings
- comfort, breathing and movement
- communication
- developing a personalised care and support plan
The service consists of:
- Way-In (referral service)
- Inpatient Ward (Byron Court)
- two community teams: the Enhanced Support Team (EST) and the Community Specialist Health Team (CSH)

Open referral system - in person, phone or in writing.
Self referrals can be made by visiting the website at www.eldp-hpfteput.nhs.uk and completing the self referral form.
You may be eligible for the service if:
- you have a learning disability
- we have the skills and resources to meet your needs
- no other service can help you
If you are not eligible for support from the service, we will work with you to find the right service that can meet your needs.
