Southend Shared Lives can give people who require care and support the opportunity to live independently.

The scheme matches people who need support with an approved carer. Carers share their family and community life. They give care and support to the person with care needs. Some people live with their shared lives carers. Others have short breaks or day support. We match the people we support and carers carefully.

Carers are selected and trained by the scheme with the goal of making sure people benefit from an individual and personalised service.

The service can help people from the age of 16.
