An old broad tree with green leaves

Would you like to explore local Essex woodland with a professional arboriculturalist?

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Dr Oliver Rackham’s book ‘The Woods of South East Essex’, Southend-on-Sea City Council's Arboricultural Officer invites you to join him in exploring our local woodlands.

Attendees will uncover the history hidden within, find out about some of the plants and animals that call them home and look at what the future looks like for some of rarest and diverse landscapes.

Walks will be free of charge and last from two to three hours. Donations for The Woodland Trust and Ancient Tree Forum welcomed.

Tailor made walks for schools, businesses and community groups can also be catered also (up to 25 people per walk). To find out more and book your place, please email treewardens@southend.gov.uk.
