
The Educational Psychology (EP) Service in Southend-on-Sea has announced its support offerings for the 2025-26 academic year, designed to assist schools with a range of needs.
Meet the Team
Southend-on-Sea’ Educational Psychology Service is a dedicated team led by a highly experienced Principal Psychologist. She is in turn supported by five Senior Educational Psychologists, Maingrade Educational Psychologists, five Trainee Educational Psychologists, and ten Assistant Educational Psychologists.
Together we bring a wealth of relevant expertise to support learning and development. Our EPs have doctoral or masters level qualifications and our assistants have psychological degrees and/or masters, many of whom are also qualified and highly experienced teachers, counsellors, social workers or come from a coaching background. The team has recently welcome Kate Busch, chartered psychologist, therapist and coach, specialist in organisational strategy, who now heads up our free wellbeing service.

Educational Psychology (EP) Service in 2025-26
The Educational Psychology Service (EPS) in Southend-on-Sea has unveiled its comprehensive range of support and intervention offerings for the upcoming 2025 to 2026 academic year. Designed to empower schools, enhance inclusive practices, and support the well-being and development of children and young people, the new provisions include a valuable free consultation offer alongside flexible traded packages and a diverse array of specialist services. Schools in the region are encouraged to explore the tailored options, which aim to address a wide spectrum of educational and psychological needs.
Core service/ free offer
Each school will be given three half day sessions (9 hours equivalent) during the academic year 2025 to 2026. This can be used for consultation with the EP Service rather than individual assessments. (To be utilised before February half-term 2026).
Traded work
Packages available for 2025 to 2026:
- Bronze package: 2 days (12 hours)
- Silver package: 4 days (24 hours)
- Gold package: 6 days (36 hours)
- Platinum package: 8 days (48 hours)
The EPS allocate time as a working day of 6 hours. Time given allows for the write up as well as the on-site time. Each Link EP will manage the bought in time in a way that suits the individual needs of the school.
