Southend SEND: What happens next - a 'Graduated Response' to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities is a working document for families and professionals.

The guide contains information about how all educational settings across Southend are expected to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

You can also listen to some Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs) employed by Southend schools talk about a Graduated Response and what this means to them, in this podcast: A Graduated Response From a SENCO - YouTube.

The terms 'Graduated Approach' and 'Graduated Offer' may also be used.

For education settings and groups who wish to raise awareness of the Graduated Response guide, a poster and small cards (credit card size) are available.
