This specialist nursing service provides support for children and young people aged 0 to 18years who have epilepsy alongside a learning disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Working collaboratively with the wider Children's Epilepsy Nursing teams across the Mid and South Essex area, the service aims to deliver holistic, person-centred care tailored to each child's individual needs.
We can offer:
- targeted interventions and short term support to address specific healthepilepsy related needs related to epilepsy
- specialist advice and guidance for children, young people and families on managing epilepsy, health conditions and wellbeing
- transition advice to help young people move confidently from children's to adult epilepsy services
- help children and families prepare for appointment and admissions to hospital
- social stories and communication tools
- guidance on related health needs
- collaboration with schools, community teams and other healthcare professionals
Referrals can be made by consultants, GPs, community paediatricians or other healthcare professionals and schools involved in the child's care. Families and carers can also contact the service directly for advice and information.

Children and young people aged 0 to 18 years with a confirmed diagnosis of epilepsy and an additional diagnosis of a learning disability and/or ASD, living within the Mid South Essex (MSE) area and have a GP registered within this area.
