Bookstart
All children in Southend should get free packs of reading goodies at key stages of their development:
- a Baby Bookstart bag from health visitors at around 6 weeks old
- a Treasure Pack from an early year's setting in the term after the child turns 3years old
We also have:
- Bookstart Touch packs for visually impaired children
- Bookstart Shine packs for hearing impaired children
- Bookstart Star packs for children whose disability affects their fine motor skills
Contact Bookstart or your health visitor for more details.
If your child has not got a pack:
- ask at your local library
- talk to your health visitor
- contact the Bookstart Team directly
