Advice and Information for Carers

An informal Carer is someone who, without payment, supports a family member or friend who;

  • is ill
  • has a disability
  • is elderly
  • has mental health or substance misuse issues.

Support may include help with;

  • Shopping
  • Cooking
  • dealing with medication
  • personal care
  • attending medical appointments

The person cared for may live with you or in their own home.

Southend Carers Hub is a local one-stop-shop offering a range of practical and emotional support services to help carers of all ages living in Southend.
